Presidential Commitment
MiCC is a coalition of colleges and universities committed to the promotion of service-learning, civic engagement and all forms of engaged scholarship. To become a MiCC member institution, a president or chancellor should write a letter expressing interest on the part of their institution, reflecting their commitment to the principles stated in the Presidents’ Declaration on the Civic Responsibility of Higher Education. Additionally, Presidents and their campus constituents are encouraged to become a signatory of Campus Compact’s 30th Anniversary Action Statement and to develop a campus Civic Action Plan.
MiCC will present the Presidential Commitment Letter for review by the MiCC Senior Leadership Council. Upon approval, MiCC staff will invoice the institution, schedule a member visit, and request contact information for institutional representatives (community service contacts, faculty service learning contacts, Presidents assistant, grants coordinator, etc.) in order to communicate directly with them in the future. This information allows MiCC to integrate the institution into our coalition more efficiently.Below is Michigan Campus Compact’s annual dues structure, which is based on an institution’s Full Time Equivalent enrollment status from the previous academic year. MiCC membership is renewed in July of each year; dues will increase at a rate of 3% per year. Dues for those joining during the course of an academic year may be prorated.
MiCC membership includes membership in national Campus Compact and the Michigan Nonprofit Association.
