1. How is Michigan Campus Compact governed and staffed?
Michigan Campus Compact is governed by the Council of Presidents Executive Committee. Click here to view MCC's staff list.
2. How is Michigan Campus Compact funded?
Michigan Campus Compact ' s core operational budget is funded through membership dues paid by member institutions. This stability allows the Compact to focus its fundraising energies on raising money to support member campus programs through corporate, foundation, and government grants. Current and past funders include the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the Corporation for National and Community Service, The McGregor Fund, Gerstacker Fund, Towsley Fund, the Michigan Community Service Commission, Campus Compact, the Pew Charitiable Trust, State Farm, and more.
3. How can I participate in the MCC network?
If you are affiliated with a member campus as staff, faculty or a student, the first thing you should do is make sure you are in Michigan Campus Compact ' s database. Those in the database receive regular opportunity and resource updates, and invitations to network meetings and events. Call 517.492.2424 to request that you are added to the database. In most cases, individuals on each campus are selected to serve on MCC constituent groups.
4. How does a campus join Michigan Campus Compact?
Formal membership in Michigan Campus Compact must come at the request of the college or university President or Chancellor. A letter of intent to join MCC should be sent to Renee Zientek, MCC Executive Director. This letter should state interest in becoming a member and make a commitment by the President to attend the annual Presidents' Council meeting each year and pay membership dues from their discretionary funds. Michigan Campus Compact staff are available to visit campus to talk with the President and other campus representatives about the benefits of membership. Membership in Michigan Campus Compact also includes membership in the national Campus Compact and the Michigan Nonprofit Association.
5. How do I know if I’m an MCC member?
All constituents associated with MCC member campuses are considered part of our network.
6. How do I get involved with those on my campus doing this work?

7. Why do Higher Education institution presidents join Michigan Campus Compact?
Presidents join for lots of reasons, but the primary reason is that they are committed to expanding and strengthening the civic education and community involvement of their campus for the better education of students.
8. How can I contribute to Michigan Campus Compact?
Michigan Campus Compact is always looking for creative and dynamic partnerships that will grow the fields of community service, service-learning and civic engagement opportunities for Michigan college students and their institutions. Partnerships could include but are not limited to funding, public relations, trainings and conferences, individual commitment and developing model programs.
