MCC College Coaching Corps AmeriCorps Program
The Mentor Michigan College Coaching Corps (MMCCC) is a program of the Michigan Nonprofit Association in partnership with Mentor Michigan and Michigan Campus Compact. The MMCCC enrolls and places full-time AmeriCorps members within youth mentoring organizations and institutions of higher education across the state of Michigan.
Members placed within institutions of higher education will create a "college-going" culture by engaging in the following service activities:
- Training college students to be College Positive Volunteers
- Building community partnerships among K-12 schools, community-based organizations, and their host campus
- Creating college-focused community activities
- Developing and disseminating resources related to college access to members placed within youth mentoring organizations
- Increase community awareness of the fact that higher education can be accessed by all
2011-2012 Mentor Michigan College Coaching Members have been placed on the following campuses:
- Alma College- Service Learning Office
- Alma College- Academic & Career Planning
- Ferris State University at Grand Rapids Community College
- Finlandia University
- Mott Community College- Community Outreach
- University of Michigan- Ann Arbor- Center for Educational Outreach
- University of Michigan- Ann Arbor - National Forum on Higher Education for the Public Good
- University of Michigan- Dearborn- Admissions
- Western Michigan University- Multicultural Affairs
