Michigan Campus Compact participates in four AmeriCorps national service opportunities. Begun in 1994, the AmeriCorps programs provide opportunities for Americans to make an intensive commitment to service. The AmeriCorps network of local, state and national service programs engages more than 70,000 Americans in intensive service each year.
AmeriCorps members serve through more than 3,000 nonprofits, public agencies, and faith-based and other community organizations, helping meet critical needs in education, public safety, health and the environment. Michigan Campus Compact AmeriCorps*VISTAs, Michigan Service Scholars and M3C Fellows contribute countless hours of service every year and, in return, receive an education award and valuable career skills.
AmeriCorps*VISTA
Full-time national service program placing MCC VISTAs on member campuses to build, support, and develop the capacity of college students to address the local needs of children in low-income communities and to gain a richer experience outside the classroom.
College Coaching Corps
AmeriCorps Members are placed on college campuses will serve the campus and community by building a college-going culture within the community and schools. These Members will recruit and provide training for college students to serve youth in the “college positive volunteer” mentality, acting as ambassadors (encouragers) of post-secondary education to youth they serve. Members will also create and deepen partnerships between college campuses, community organizations and K-12 schools to create a college-going community culture, as well as increase community awareness to emphasize the fact that higher education can be accessed by all.

Midwest Citizen Scholars
300-hour AmeriCorps program providing education awards to low income and first generation college students on member campuses who serve as agents of civic engagement.
